With its enhanced system of active pressure redistribution management, this low air loss alternating mattress is suitable to use with profiling bed frames. As the mattress of choice for the NHS, it is used for high level ulcer prevention and treatment in acute care settings, going up to ulcer grade IV – features include tri-phase therapy and zoned pressure, providing pressure relief for heel and sacral zones. The pump provides audio and visual alarms and self-diagnostics.
Our Galaxy 2000 replacement alternating air mattress is specifically designed to withstand hospital and nursing home use. It helps prevent the patient from slipping down the bed, as this can lead to compression of the diaphragm; it also reduces the need for patients to be lifted back up the bed. Designed to harmonise with the latest generation of modern profiling beds (NCSC Standard 24.3), it provides a built in knee and hip area that is hinged to ensure that its “point of articulation” is closer to the spine and leg level.
