The appropriate mattress will help to prevent pressure ulcers by removing factors that can contribute to their occurrence – providing the correct positioning for patients and employing an adequate support system.
A foam mattress can help to alleviate pressure ulcer problems. As a recognised aid for patients who are less mobile, pressure relieving foam mattresses are used in conjunction with repositioning to minimise the risk of pressure ulcers.
We supply a number of foam mattresses, including the Vitality high risk pressure reducing foam mattress. Delivering maximum pressure reduction, this innovative design is manufactured from the highest quality materials and offers superior comfort for patients who require special bed care. Made from visco-elastic – a temperature sensitive, energy absorbing material that’s heat responsive – it moulds itself uniformly around the patient. Designed for low to medium risk pressure care, our standard foam mattress is suitable for electric profiling beds. Featuring a two way stretch, waterproof cover and a four way turning regime that extends the mattress’s life, it has an easy clean surface and offers good pressure reduction.
We also supply a high pressure care mattress with memory foam that is suitable for patients who require high pressure relieving qualities, either at home or in hospital. Supporting a maximum weight of 20 stone (127 kg), it has a visco-elastic memory foam layer for extra comfort and durability. With an easy clean surface, it has zips on three sides for easy cover removal.
Suitable for use at home or in hospital, our modular cut foam care mattress has a vapour permeable, waterproof cover. With welded seams as an optional extra, it offers excellent pressure reduction and is hardwearing: made-to-measure and deeper mattresses are also available to order.
All our mattresses are available with optional welded seams.
