Beds for ALS

To help improve quality of sleep for those living with ALS; Kinderkey provides a variety of safe sleeping solutions that promote comfort and security.

Featuring soft sides and a four-part profiling mattress frame, with adjustable inclination, our Bearsnoozzze bed is height adjustable and provides excellent therapeutic support.

The Optimum bed has a strong padded surround, lowering the risk of impact and injuries by absorbing the force of involuntary movements. Height adjustable, it allows the person being cared for to be transferred without risk.

Our Bed Surround offers an alternative to standard bed rails and can help to reduce the risks of entrapment and asphyxiation. Tailor-made to each specific bed and mattress, it ensures a perfect fit for effective protection.

Kinderkey offers home or virtual assessments to assess personal requirements and to identify the most suitable safe sleeping solution for each individual.

Huntington’s Optimum

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Symptoms can vary and may include muscle weakness and twitching, difficulty speaking and swallowing, and fatigue.

For those living with ALS, quality sleep can be a challenge. Disruption can be caused by physical symptoms such as muscle cramps, pain, reduced mobility, spasticity, mucus retention and restless legs syndrome, leading to problems with falling asleep and staying asleep. In addition, sleep-related breathing disorders, such as sleep apnoea, can lead to further disturbances.
